Achievements of the Master's Program in Nutrition
The Master's Program in Nutrition is a dynamic, impact-driven academic platform that bridges research excellence and national health priorities.
Although the program was established in Fall 2021, it has already demonstrated remarkable research productivity. To date, approximately 30 peer-reviewed publications have been generated, addressing pressing public health challenges and aligning closely with Qatar's strategic health and sustainability priorities. The program's research initiatives are firmly grounded in national priority areas, with a strong focus on cardiometabolic diseases, dietary transitions, and the development of culturally responsive nutrition strategies tailored to the regional context.
A distinguishing achievement of the program is the development and validation of population-specific Food Frequency Questionnaires (FFQs) for both adults and children in Qatar, tools that significantly enhance dietary assessment accuracy in the region. In parallel, we have designed culturally tailored food exchange lists adapted to Qatari and GCC dietary patterns, strengthening clinical applicability and nutrition education across healthcare settings. The program has also advanced the development of innovative functional food products aimed at supporting preventive health and metabolic resilience.
Through its integration of scientific rigor, regional relevance, and translational innovation, the program has positioned itself as a leading contributor to nutrition research and applied public health advancement in the Gulf region.
